The bricks of burden on my chest 

Crumble piece by piece 

As I grieve the biggest of regrets 

To not uphold my innocence 

Time and trials all will test 

The child that breathes within my breast 

Will she shine or weep and dim 

The voice she so yearns to express 

Lonely Souls

Been taking to the bottle 

To tame the horses in my head 

The loneliness won’t listen now 

My mind races on instead 

This beating heart of mine 

Must be made of gold 

Everyone wants a piece to hold 

Until they leave me lost and cold 

Friends and lovers 

They come and they go 

I know Love is bigger somehow 

So where does it go?

I’m no longer empty 

Drowning doesn’t hurt anymore 

Acceptance brings the peace

That nothing stays for sure 

Tranquility was never easy 

Warm waters always swell

Rivers flow beneath the waves 

Where lonely souls have a home
