Honest Souls

Maybe you and I
Have never really gone astray
The clear glass walls
Never would sway anyway

So you hold those hard thin lines
That shame you and speak of sin
Until you can't light that spark again
Until your mind won't let you win

Honest souls have the hardest time
Finding peace between the lines
Freedom lost is always found
Outside the rules that keep us bound

Bells and tricks and ladders tall
And therapy that keeps us small
Are these labels really us at all
Inside the box, outside you fall

Honest souls have the hardest time
Finding peace between the lines
Freedom lost is always found
Outside the rules that keep us bound

Im swimming in the water now
Down the river soft and proud
The earth will hold me as I glide
Into the ocean open wide

Honest souls have the hardest time
Finding peace between the lines
Freedom lost is always found
Outside the rules that keep us bound
