Rise Like Rain

Rivers dripping from my fingers

From the blood red soil in my soul

We’re all self-proclaimed free thinkers

With hearts full of unfilled holes

Peeling back the sunken layers

Skin and muscle, breath and bone

Spirit moves in all directions

Anchored only by a solid soul

The dawn is born to tearful eyes

That pour out with our useless pride

Let flow all of your dirty pain

Fall again and rise like rain

Move those mountains deep inside you

Clear the path for all that’s good

Charm the snakes that try to find you

Yoke the demons like you should

The dawn is born to tearful eyes

That pour out with our useless pride

Let flow all of your dirty pain

Fall again and rise like rain

Climb off your troubled throne

Spend some broken time alone

With all the guilt and shame you own

Then wash it off and let it go

The rain brings back the rivers dry

And resurrects what stays alive

The clarity brings back the shine

We thought we lost with passing time

The dawn is born to tearful eyes

That pour out with our useless pride

Let flow all of your dirty pain

Fall again and rise like rain
