The life I made with all my might
Disappeared one day from sight
It left me here empty and raw
To seek the real road I once sought
When I was just a little girl
My fingers open to the world
My mind so clean and eyes so clear
Did not know pain or useless fear
My tender heart could open wide
No doors were closed, I didn’t hide
From all the prying greedy eyes
That stole my youth from deep inside
This world was made for little girls
With soaring dreams and rebel words
If we can track the sighing child
That lives behind our tired smile
